This chapter provides information about how to deploy NetMRI on a traditional hardware-based appliance. The appliance on which NetMRI runs should be supported by an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to avoid data corruption problems should there be a power outage. Contact your Infoblox representatives about the different NetMRI hardware appliance models.

The process for Windows 10 is described here, but it may be slightly different for different versions of Windows or other operating systems:

  1. In the search box next to Start Image Modified, enter control panel and then select Control Panel from the list of results.
  2. In the Control Panel dialog box, click Network and Internet.
  3. In the Network and Internet dialog box, click Network and Sharing Center.
  4. In the Network and Sharing Center dialogue, click Local Area Connection.
  5. In the Local Area Connections Status dialog, click Properties.
  6. In the Local Area Connection Properties dialog, click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IP IPv4), and then click the click Properties button.
  7. In thethe Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IP IPv4) dialog, do the following:

    1. In the IP address field, enter 169.254.1.5

    in the IP address field and

    2. In the Subnet mask field, enter 255.255.255.0

    in the Subnet mask field, and then click OK in the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IP IPv4) dialog and Close in the

  8. In the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box, click Close. (

  9. For some versions of Windows, you might need to reboot your computer.) This IP address change is only necessary for the initial setup. Once the setup is complete, return your workstation to its prior configuration.

  10. Access NetMRI at 169.254.1.1 using SSH.
  11. Log in with the user name admin and password admin.following credentials:
    1. Username: admin
    2. Password: admin
  12. Configure NetMRI on your appliance. For more information, see Configuring NetMRI.
