Prerequisites for Deploying BloxOne Endpoint on a Linux Client System

To install the Infoblox BloxOne Linux client, the following is required:

  • Ubuntu OS VERSION=“22.04 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish)” and above

Limitations

BloxOne Endpoint for Linux is not compatible with VPNs.

Installing an Infoblox Endpoint Linux Client Application

To install InfoBlox ndpoint Infoblox Endpoint on a Linux Client application, perform the following steps:

  1. To download Download the Linux BloxOne Endpoint zip file navigate : Navigate to the downloads page (by going to Administration > Downloads). Click  > Downloads, and click Download Linux Endpoint Client.


  2. Unzip the downloaded file, and run the installer.sh file. 
  3. Install BloxOne Endpoint by using the command sudo sh installer.sh.
  4. After the successful Installation we can see the BloxOne Endpoint icon. All the Verify that BloxOne Endpoint has been installed correctly: The BloxOne Endpoint icon will appear on your desktop, and all related files will be extracted in to /usr/local/b1e.

  5. To learn check the status of BloxOne of BloxOne Endpoint, click on the icon followed by clicking the status BloxOne Endpoint icon and open the Status tab.


  6. The Verify that the system tray icon should be is visible and the status should be protected is Protected with active network. 

Downloading and Viewing BloxOne Endpoint Logs

To download and view BloxOne Endpoint logs, click on the BloxOne Endpoint icon followed by clicking the Troubleshoot tab. In the Troubleshoot tab, click , open the Troubleshoot tab, and click Download Logs.

Manual Installation of Tray Items 

Currently, due to the nature of the Linux Redhat’s extension handling, we ask our customers to install the tray icons enabling the extension for Gnome manually. The instructions are as follows:

1.Go to the site https://extensions.gnome.org/
2. Find the extension with the name “Tray Icons: Reloaded“.
3.  Install the extension and then enable it.
4. Now you can install BloxOne Endpoint.
