A Global DNS Configuration contains all the settings required to run a host as a DNS server.  A DNS config profile is configured and applied locally to the host. All configuration settings are inherited from the Global DNS Configuration into the DNS config profile by default. If there are no changes made to the DNS config profile, it would be an exact copy of the Global DNS Configuration. For more information, see Global DNS Configuration

You can also perform the following in this tab:

  • Click The Menu iconImage Modifiedselect the columns to be shown.
  • Click  The Menu iconImage Modified-> Edit or select the check box for the respective record and click the Editbutton to modify a DNS server.

  • Select a DNS server to view the details on the right-hand panel. You can view details like name, description, type, tags, queries, recursion, DNSSEC, server details, and EDNS Client Subnet Configuration details that are associated with it. If you do not want to view the details in the right-hand panel, click The Information iconImage Modified.

  • Enter the value that you want to search in the Search text box. The application displays the list of records matching the keyword in the text box.

  • Click The Filter iconImage Modified to filter the objects by name, description, and tagsTo save a filter after selecting the required parameters click The Save iconImage Modified, specify a name for the filter, and click Save & Close. To reload a previously saved filter, click The Star iconImage Modified and select the required filter. 

  • Click  The Menu iconImage Modified-> Move to Recycle Bin to move the object to the recycle bin. You can restore the object later or delete it permanently as required. For more information, see Recycle Bin.
