The Cloud Services Infoblox Portal provides service logs that you can view or download for troubleshooting purposes. Service logs provide diagnostic information about the services running on specific hosts servers in your BloxOne Infoblox Platform infrastructure. Information in service logs allows you to analyze, optimize, and troubleshoot BloxOne Infoblox services.

To view the service logs, do the following:

  1. From the Cloud Services Infoblox Portal, click Administration Monitor > Logs > Service Logs

  2. On the Service Logs page, click Display Recent to display the most recent 100 service events.

    Click (the Filter icon) to activate the filtering feature, and then click (the Add icon) to configure your filter.
    From the Basic Columns menu, choose the filtering criterion you want to add. You can select one of the following:

    • Timestamp: You can select an applicable timeline within which you want to filter the results, using the calendar provided.

    • Log Type: Select the service type for which you want to obtain service events. For example, if you choose DNS, the Cloud Services Infoblox Portal display only events related to the DNS service. The following is a list of available log types:

      • Anycast: Choose this to view or download the Anycast service events.

      • AWS Discovery: Choose this to view or download the AWS Discovery service events.

      • Azure Discovery: Choose this to view or download the Azure Discovery service events.

      • DHCP: Choose this to view or download the DHCP service events.

      • DNS: Choose this to view or download the DNS service events.

      • DNS Forwarding Proxy: Choose this to view or download the DNS forwarding proxy logs.

      • GCP Discovery: Choose this to view or download the GCP Discovery service events.

      • NIOS Grid Connector: Choose this to view or download the service logs for NIOS Grid Connector.

      • NTP: Choose this to view or download service events for the NTP service.

      • HostServer: Select the host server on which you want to obtain service events. The drop-down list includes available hosts servers in your infrastructure.

Available hosts servers are hosts servers that you have configured and are in the following state: Active, Degraded, and Disconnected.

The Service Logs page provides a card view and a table view for displaying information. You can toggle between the card and table view by clicking the icon on the upper right corner of the navigation bar.

By default, the card view displays the following information for each configuration you have created:

  • Timestamp: The UTC timestamp when the user performed the specific task.

  • OPID: The unique ID of the hostserver.

  • Container Name: The name of the container in which the host server is currently running.

  • Service ID: The ID of the service.

  • TIMESTAMP: The UTC timestamp when the user performed the specific task.

  • CONTAINER NAME: The name of the container in which the host server is currently running.

  • SERVICE ID: The ID of the service.

  • MESSAGE: Detailed information about the event.

  • Click the Sort by menu to choose the column by which you want to sort the events, and then use the up/down arrows to sort the events in ascending or descending order.

  • Enter the value that you want to search in the Search text box. The Cloud Services Infoblox Portal displays the list of security events that match the keyword in the text box.
