BloxOne The Infoblox Platform allows you to update an existing template using a new snapshot from another hostserver. When you first create a template, BloxOne the Infoblox Platform took a snapshot of the services running on a selected hostserver. If you have since added or removed services on another host server and want to use the service snapshot of this host server to update an existing template, you can do so through the re-snapshotting feature on the hostserver.

To update an existing template through re-snapshotting, do the following:

  1. Log in to the Cloud Services Infoblox Portal.

  2. Click the ManageConfigure > Infrastructure > HostsServers tab.

  3. Select the host server from which you want to take a service snapshot.

  4. Click the icon and choose Re-snapshot from the menu.

  5. In the Re-snapshot dialog, click the template to which you want to apply the new snapshot.

  6. Click the arrow to move the template to the SELECTED section.

  7. Click Save & Close

The template is now updated with the new snapshot and services. Once you save the updated template, services on all Locked hosts servers to which you have applied the template will reconcile to reflect the changes you have made to the template. For example, if you add a new service to the template, the new service will start on the Locked hosts servers once you save the template.
