Creating a Bypass Code

To create a new bypass code, complete the following:

  1. From the Cloud Services the Infoblox Portal, click Administration Configure > Security > Bypass Codes.
  2. On the Bypass Code page, click the Create button at the top Action bar.
  3. On the Add New Bypass Code page, complete the following:
    • Bypass Code Name: Enter a name for the bypass code.

      Warning

      Ensure that you enter a unique name for each bypass code.


    • Description: Enter a brief description of the bypass code.
    • Beginning: Select a beginning date and time by clicking on the begin calendar object and choosing a begin date and begin time. Once you have made your choices, click outside the calendar object to close it.  
    • Expiry: Select an expiry date and time by clicking on the expiry calendar object and choosing an expiry date and expiry time. Once you have made your choices, click outside the calendar object to close it.
    • Category Filters: To add category filters, complete the following:
      • From the Category Filters list, click the respective arrow to expand the category that you want to use for this filter. You can also select a specific category from the Sections drop-down menu in the top right-hand corner of the page. Or you can click the Expand All Sections drop-down menu to expand all the categories.
      • Select the checkboxes of the sub-categories you want to include in the rule, and then use the arrows to move the selected sub-categories from the Available Categories section to the Selected Categories section and vice versa. You can also place a check in the box next to the name of a filter category to select all sub-categories within it. You can include as many categories and sub-categories as you want based on your needs.
    • Custom Lists: To add custom lists, complete the following:
      • From the Custom Lists list, click the respective arrow to expand the category that you want to use for this filter. You can also select a specific category from the Sections drop-down menu in the top right-hand corner of the page. Or you can click the Expand All Sections drop-down menu to expand all the categories.
      • Select the checkboxes of the sub-categories you want to include in the rule, and then use the arrows to move the selected sub-categories from the Available Custom Lists section to the Selected Custom Lists section and vice versa. You can also place a check in the box next to the name of a filter category to select all sub-categories within it. You can include as many categories and sub-categories as you want based on your needs.
    • Feeds and Threat Insight: To add feeds and Threat Insight, complete the following:
      • From the Feed and Threat Insight list, click the respective arrow to expand the category that you want to use for this filter. You can also select a specific category from the Sections drop-down menu in the top right-hand corner of the page. Or you can click the Expand All Sections drop-down menu to expand all the categories.
      • Select the checkboxes of the sub-categories you want to include in the rule, and then use the arrows to move the selected sub-categories from the Available Feeds and Threat insight section to the Selected Feeds and Threat section and vice versa. You can also place a check in the box next to the name of a filter category to select all sub-categories within it. You can include as many categories and sub-categories as you want based on your needs.
  4. Click Save & Close tosave the bypass code configuration.

To modify a bypass code, complete the following:

  1. From the Cloud Services the Infoblox Portal, click Administration   > Bypass Codes.
  2. On the Bypass Code page, select the bypass code you want to modify and click the Edit button at the top Action bar. Or, select the bypass code you want to update, and then click  > Edit.
  3. On the Edit Bypass Code page, make modifications as necessary to the following:
    • Bypass Code Name: Enter a modification to the current bypass code name.

      Warning

    • Description: Enter a brief description of the bypass code.
    • Beginning: Select a beginning date and time by clicking on the begin calendar object and choosing a begin date and begin time. Once you have made your choices, click outside the calendar object to close it.

  4. Click Save & Close tosave the modified configuration.

Removing a Bypass Code

To remove a bypass code, complete the following:

  1. From the Cloud Services the Infoblox Portal, click Administration  Configure > Security > Bypass Codes.
  2. On the Bypass Code page, select the bypass code you want to remove and click the Remove button at the top Action bar. Or, select the bypass code you want to remove, and then click     > Edit.
  3. Click Save & Close to remove the bypass code.
