In the TE-2306 series, TE-2306 is the base model upon which you can install the other appliances in the TE-2306 series. Your TE-2306 appliance comes configured out-of-the-box with a set of licenses. However, these licenses are temporary and will last for 60 days.

You can run the set license CLI command to install subscription licenses. When you run the set license command, you will be prompted to enter a license string. Contact Infoblox Support to obtain the license string and to go through the configuration process.

You can run the set temp_license CLI command to install additional software (feature) licenses that last for 60 days. Running the set temp_license command displays a list of software licenses that can be installed on TE-2306. Depending on the software that you want to use, choose the license. The appliance then displays a list of appliances that can run the software you chose. Depending on your requirement, choose the appliance to install on top of the base TE-2306 appliance.

You can run the set hardware-type IB-FLEX CLI command to set the TE-2306 appliance as an IB-FLEX appliance.

The below figure depicts the list of software licenses displayed and the appliances that support these licenses. The appliances vary depending on the base model that you have purchased. The following figure represents the TE-2306 series of appliances:

Key features of the TE-2306 series of appliances include:

  • Up to 100% 30% increase in DNS QPS performance compared to TE-2215 and TE-2225.

  • Up to 100% 30% increase in DHCP LPS performance compared to TE-2215 and TE-2225.

  • The TE-2306 series of appliances run runs on NIOS 9.0.1 and later.

The Infoblox Trinzic 2306 series comprises the following software appliance models:

  • TE-2326

In addition to aforementioned appliances, the Infoblox Trinzic 2306 series also supports the following Trinzic appliances of X5 series: 

  • TE-2215

  • TE-2225

  • ND-2205

If you replaced your Trinzic X5 series appliance with a Trinzic X6 series appliance and have existing licenses that are still active, you can get the active licenses transferred over to the new applianceare a NIOS 9.0 customer who has upgraded to NIOS 9.0.1, you can purchase the TE-2306 appliance and continue using the features supported by the appliances above without having to buy a new subscription license. NIOS has the ability to compare the existing licenses with the new ones that will be applied, validate them, and then report whether the licenses are valid or not. When you accept the valid licenses, all valid licenses will be installedYou can buy a new license after your existing license expires. However, you need a new license key. Contact Infoblox Support to obtain the new license key.
