Redundant cloud connectivity refers to the setup of multiple network connections or paths to ensure continuous and reliable network connectivity between the host and BloxOne Cloud. It is a method used to minimize the risk of network downtime and improve network resilience. By having redundant connections, if one connection fails or experiences issues, the network traffic can automatically be rerouted through an alternate path, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity. In the context of BloxOne, redundant connectivity can be achieved by enabling port redundancy on LAN1 and LAN2 ports on the host. This feature groups the LAN1 and LAN2 ports into one logical interface, sharing one IP address. If a link to one of the ports fails or is disabled, the appliance fails over to the other port, avoiding service disruption. Therefore, the host never loses connectivity with BloxOne Cloud. It’s important to note that redundant connectivity can be configured in different ways depending on the specific network setup and requirements. The details of the configuration may vary based on the network equipment and software being used.
Before you create a new hostNIOS-X server, note the following:
Hosts NIOS-X servers for physical BloxOne B1-105 appliances servers are automatically created when the appliances servers are shipped by Infoblox; a host . A NIOS-X server is created by using an appliance’s the server’s serial number. DO NOT manually create hosts for physical BloxOne appliances.Virtual hostsNIOS-X physical servers on the Infoblox Portal.
NIOS-X virtual servers, including KVM-deployed hostsservers, connect to the Cloud Services Infoblox Portal by using valid join tokens. For information about join tokens, see Configuring Join Tokens.
For NIOS-X physical VEP-1425 and VEP-1485 appliancesservers, obtain the seven-digit serial number from the Service Tag label on the bottom of the applianceserver. You will use this number when creating a new hostNIOS-X physical server.
