The Web Content Discovery : Summary page provides dashboard provides insightful reports and tallies of all web categories detected on your network. To access the page, go to Reports > Web Content Discovery > Summary. The following reports are available on the page:  

  • Image RemovedHIGH RISK CATEGORIES: A list of the top threat categories observed on your network. Click any of the listed categories to view the details about the specific high-risk category on the Categories page. Click View All to display the list on the Categories page. 
  • MOST POPULAR CATEGORIES: A list of the most popular web content categories observed on your network. Click any of the listed categories to view the details about the specific category on the Categories page. Click View All to display the list on the Categories page.
  • Image RemovedDEVICES ACCESSING HIGH-RISK DESTINATIONS: A list of devices accessing high-risk destinations observed on your network. Click any of the listed categories to view the details about a specific device on the Devices page. Click View All to display the list on the Devices page.

Highest Risk and Most Popular Category of Web Content on Your Network

The Web Content Discovery banner on the Summary page displays the following categories:

  • the highest-risk web content viewed on your network, along with the number of observations reported for this category
  • the most popular web content viewed on your network, along with the number of observations reported for this category

Click Top Risk Category to go directly to the malicious downloads report on the Categories page, where you can view detailed information about the highest-risk category web content viewed on your network. Alternatively, click Top Category to go directly to the Categories page, where you can view detailed information about the most-viewed web content on your network. This information can help you understand the web content–related activity on the network and take the necessary steps to protect the network from potential threats:

In this example, Malicious Downloads is the most-viewed, top-risk category for your network. The Uncategorized category is the to web content observed on your network. The Uncategorized category varies based on the organization's policy configuration.

You can do the following on the Summary page:

Click Image Removed to view all background tasks currently being undertaken. 

Click Image Removed to perform a global search by inputting your search criteria in the search field located in the top-right quadrant of the page.

  • The dashboard displays total categories, devices, and high-risk categories with percentage changes.
  • Each card allows users to access specific pages for more detailed information.
  • Top 3 High Risk Content Categories report the top web categories associated with a higher risk of threat.
  • Users can refresh data and select time periods for displayed records using the Refresh and Show options.
  • The page also provides access to background tasks, global search, recent searches, high-risk category details, popular categories, and devices accessing high-risk destinations.

To access the Web Content Discovery Summary page, do the following:

  1. Log in to the Infoblox Portal.
  2. In the Infoblox Portal, click MonitorReportsWeb Content Discovery.

The following are the main features of the summary page:

The dashboard displays three cards: Total Categories, Total Devices, and High Risk Categories. Each card displays the number of detections on your network. In addition, the High Risk Category card displays the percentage increase or decrease in total detections during the past seven days. An upward-pointing green or red arrow indicates an increase, and a downward-pointing green or red arrow indicates a decrease.

Total Categories: This card displays the total number of web content categories detected on your network. To open the Categories page, click the Total Categories link. For information on threat categories, see Creating Category Filters. To view the Web Content Categories page, click here.

High Risk Categories: This card displays the total number of threat categories detected on your network. Click the Total Categories link to be taken to the Categories page. For information on threat categories, see Creating Category Filters. To view the Web Content Categories page, click here.

Top 3 High Risk Content Categories: The Threat Classes card reports the top web categories associated with a higher risk of threat according to the number of DNS requests sent from protected devices on your network. The chart reports the data for the past seven days.

Refresh and Show

  • RefreshClick the refresh icon to refresh the data displayed on the page.
  • Show: Click Show to select a time period for the displayed data records:
    • 1 hour
    • 24 hours
    • 48 hours
    • 7 days
    • 1 month
    • Custom (limited to 30 days):

To view background tasks and recent search information, do the following

  • Background TasksClick the hourglass icon to open the side panel displaying a list of all running background tasks. 

  • Global Search: Enter the search criteria or value that you want to search for in the Search text box. 

  • Recent Searches: Click the search icon to perform a global search. The Infoblox Portal will display the list of records that match the keyword in the text box. The search panel includes the tools, console messages, and other information on recent searches for the domain
