Use the Remove DNS record workflow to remove A, AAAA, PTR and CNAME records from the NIOS database. Specify either a particular host name or extensible attributes to search for the DNS records that must be removed.

  1. Log in to the VMware Aria Automation Cloud Services Console.
  2. On the Services tab, click Orchestrator.
  3. In the Dashboard panel, expand Library and click Workflows.
    The Workflows folder and its contents are displayed.
  4. Expand Library > Infoblox, and select Remove DNS record.
  5. In the top-level menu of the workflow panel, click Run.
    The Remove DNS record panel is displayed.
  6. On the Connection tab, click Connection to the IPAM server and select the IPAM connection as follows:
    1. In the Select InfobloxIPAM:IPAMConnection dialog, expand Infoblox IPAM and select the IPAM connection.
    2. Click Select.
  7. On the Remove criteria tab, search for a record by using one of the following criteria:
    • Specify the host name in the FQDN format assigned to the DNS record.
      Optionally, specify the DNS view where the record resides.
    • Select Use extensible attributes to remove A/AAAA/PTR/CNAME records? (Host name is used by default), and define the extensible attributes to consider in the search:
      1. Choose a number from the Number of extensible attributes drop-down list.
        According to the number you chose, Extensible attribute #<n> tabs are added to define the extensible attributes.
      2. On each Extensible attribute #<n> tab, specify the name, value, and type of the comparison (such as equal or not_equal) to use when finding the record.
  8. Click Run.
