Hosts, which are formerly referred to as on-prem hosts, are physical or virtual appliances on which you run BloxOne services according to your license entitlements. Depending on your network infrastructure and how you want to implement hosts, you can deploy them by using Infoblox-provided hardware and OVA packages or via a bare-metal deployment and other supported open platforms. To ensure a successful deployment of a host, set up your environment according to the BloxOne Connectivity and Service Requirements.
The Hosts page of the Cloud Services Portal displays the following information, for all deployed hosts:
Displayed Field | Description |
---|---|
Name | The host’s name. |
Host Status | The host’s status:
You can expand the panel and view detailed information about the errors. For more information, see Viewing Detailed Host Information. |
Host Type | The host’s type:
For example, if your host is a physical appliance, then its type is BloxOne Appliance, the bare-metal container is BloxOne Container, and the bare OVA VM is BloxOne VM. When you use filters to locate specific on-prem hosts, you can select the following subtypes:
|
Version # | The version of the platform currently running on the host. |
Serial Number | The serial number of the appliance (physical or virtual). |
Options | The option to apply the host’s configuration immediately, view the host’s information, edit the host’s configuration, or copy the API access key. Also use this feature to refresh the host’s status or to disconnect, replace, remove, or troubleshoot the host. |
