When you have a need to enable the same services on multiple hosts, creating a template and applying it to the applicable hosts can save you time. You can apply one template to up to 100 hosts without the hassle of creating the same configurations repeatedly. In addition, each template can serve up to 500 hosts. Using templates can also simply planning, deployment, and maintenance for your BloxOne infrastructure.

A template is a set of service configurations you define for a host. When creating a template, BloxOne takes a snapshot of all the services on the host, including the following information: service name, service type, service description, service tags, and interface labels (interface bindings).

The Cloud Services Portal logs the following template actions to the audit log: create, update, apply, and delete. For information, see Viewing Audit Logs.

You can also do the following:

  • Click (blue star) on the right to expand the panel to view host and service information of the template. The Cloud Services Portal display up to five hosts in this panel. To view the full list of hosts for a template, click (blue star) > General Information > Host tab.

  • Click the (blue star) > General Information to view detailed information about the template and the hosts on which the template was applied.

  • Filter information by template name or the name of the host on which you have applied the template.
