To create a BGP router, do the following:

  1. In the Cloud Services Portal, go to Manage > Routing > BGP Routers.

  2. Click Create.

  3. In the Create BGP Service dialog, do the following:

    1. In the General Info tab, specify the following:

      1. Name: Create a name that does not exceed 64 characters in length. Use numbers, any special characters, uppercase and lowercase letters, and even spaces. Start and end the name with any character but not a space. Leading and trailing spaces will be trimmed off automatically.

      2. Description: Enter a description that does not exceed 256 characters in length.

      3. Service State: By default, a new BGP service is set to Started. To stop the router, toggle the switch to Started.

      4. Host: Click Select Host, choose a host from the drop-down list, and then click the Select button.

      5. Tags: Click Add and specify the following:

        1. KEY: Select an existing key, or create a new one. The name of a key can contain alphanumeric characters and underscores.

        2. VALUE: Enter a value that does not exceed 256 characters in length.

    2. Click Next.

    3. On the Interface Binding tab, provide information to be used in configuring the interface binding for the host service:

      1. All Interface Binding: Select this checkbox to implement All Interface Binding for the host service.

      2. WAN: Select this checkbox to implement WAN for the host service.

      3. LAN: Select this checkbox to implement LAN for the host service.

    4. Click Next.

    5. On the Global BGP Settings tab, specify the following.

      1. ASN: Enter a value from 1 to 4294967295.

      2. Router ID: Enter a valid IP address.

      3. In the ADDRESS FAMILY section, specify the following:

        1. IPv4:

          1. ADMIN DISTANCE:

            1. External: This is optional. The range is 1 to 255.

            2. Internal: This is optional. The range is 1 to 255.

            3. Local: This is optional. The range is 1 to 255.

          2. Maximum Paths eBGP: This is optional. The range is 1 to 64.

          3. Maximum Paths iBGP: This is optional. The range is 1 to 64.

        2. IPv6:

          1. ADMIN DISTANCE:

            1. External: This is optional. The range is 1 to 255.

            2. Internal: This is optional. The range is 1 to 255.

            3. Local: This is optional. The range is 1 to 255.

          2. Maximum Paths eBGP: This is optional. The range is 1 to 64.

          3. Maximum Paths iBGP: This is optional. The range is 1 to 64.

      4. In the AGGREGATE ADDRESSES section, do the following (optional):

        1. Click Add.

        2. In the ADDRESS/CIDR column, specify a valid IPv4 or IPv6 prefix.

        3. In the OPTIONS column, select Summary Only, AS-Set, or both.

      5. In the INJECT ROUTES section, do the following (optional):

        1. Click Add.

        2. In the IP ADDRESSES column, specify a valid IPv4 or IPv6 prefix.

    6. In the ADVANCED section, expand the Advanced Options drop-down and specify the following:

      1. Fast External Failover: By default, this option is set to Disabled.

      2. Graceful Restart: By default, this option is set to Disabled.

      3. Graceful Shutdown: By default, this option is set to Disabled.

      4. Log Neighbor Changes: By default, this option is set to Disabled.

      5. Hold Time: By default, this option is set to Disabled.

      6. Keep Alive: By default, this option is set to Disabled.

      7. Update Delay: By default, this option is set to Disabled.

    7. Click Next.

    8. In the Peer Groups (Optional) section, do the following:

      1. Click Add.

      2. In the Create a Peer Group section, specify the following:

        1. Name: Create a name that does not exceed 64 characters in length. Use numbers, any special characters, uppercase and lowercase letters, and even spaces. Start and end the name with any character but not a space. Leading and trailing spaces will be trimmed off automatically.

        2. Description: Enter a description that does not exceed 256 characters in length.

        3. Remote ASN (required): Enter a value from 1 to 4294967295.

        4. Update Source: Select Interface, IPv4, or IPv6.

        5. ADDRESS FAMILY:

          1. IPv4: Leave as Disabled, or toggle to Enabled.

          2. Next Hop Self: Leave as Disabled, or toggle to Enabled.

          3. Route Map - In: Select an existing route map from the drop-down, or create a new one.

          4. Route Map - Out: Select an existing route map from the drop-down, or create a new one.

          5. Soft Reconfiguration: Leave as Disabled, or toggle to Enabled.

          6. Weight: Enter an integer from 0 to 65535.

        6. ADMIN SHUTDOWN:

          1. Enable: Leave as Disabled, or toggle to Enabled.

          2. Message: Enter a description that does not exceed 256 characters in length.

        7. ADVANCED: Expand Advanced Options, and do the following:

          1. Graceful Restart: Leave as Disabled, or toggle to Enabled.

          2. Password: Use alphanumeric and special characters.

          3. TTL Security: Enter a value from 1 to 254.

          4. Advertise Interval: Enter a value from 0 to 600.

          5. Hold Time: Enter a value from 1 to 65535.

          6. Keep Alive: Enter a value from 1 to 65535.

          7. Connect Time: Enter a value from 1 to 65535.

      3. Click Save.

      4. In the Neighbors section, do the following:

        1. Click Add, and specify the following:

          1. Peer Type: Select IPv4 or IPv6.

          2. State: Toggle the switch to Enabled or Disabled.

          3. Description: Enter a description that does not exceed 256 characters in length.

          4. Peer Group (optional): Select an existing peer group from the drop-down.

          5. Peer Address (required): Select one of the following:

            1. Interface: Select an interface from the dropdown.

            2. IPv4: Specify a valid IPv4 address.

            3. IPv6: Specify a valid IPv6 address.

          6. Remote ASN: Enter a value from 1 to 4294967295.

          7. Update Source:

            1. Interface: Select an interface from the dropdown.

            2. IPv4: Specify a valid IPv4 address.

            3. IPv6: Specify a valid IPv6 address.

          8. ADDRESS FAMILY:

            1. IPv4: Leave as Disabled, or toggle to Enabled.

            2. Next Hop Self: Leave as Disabled, or toggle to Enabled.

            3. Route Map - In: Select an existing route map from the drop-down, or create a new one.

            4. Route Map - Out: Select an existing route map from the drop-down, or create a new one.

            5. Soft Reconfiguration: Leave as Disabled, or toggle to Enabled.

            6. Weight: Enter an integer from 0 to 65535.

            7. IPv6: Leave as Disabled, or toggle to Enabled.

            8. Next Hop Self: Leave as Disabled, or toggle to Enabled.

            9. Route Map - In: Select an existing route map from the drop-down, or create a new one.

            10. Route Map - Out: Select an existing route map from the drop-down, or create a new one.

            11. Soft Reconfiguration: Leave as Disabled, or toggle to Enabled.

            12. Weight: Enter an integer from 0 to 65535.

          9. ADMIN SHUTDOWN:

            1. Enable: Leave as False, or toggle to True.

            2. Message: Enter a description that does not exceed 256 characters in length.

          10. ADVANCED: expand the Advanced Options drop-down and specify the following:

            1. Graceful Restart: Leave as Disabled, or toggle to Enabled.

            2. Password: Use alphanumeric and special characters.

            3. Password: Use alphanumeric and special characters.

            4. TTL Security: Enter a value from 1 to 254.

            5. Advertise Interval: Enter a value from 0 to 600.

            6. Hold Time: Enter a value from 1 to 65535.

            7. Keep Alive: Enter a value from 1 to 65535.

            8. Connect Time: Enter a value from 1 to 65535.

      5. Click Save.

      6. Click Next.

      7. In the Summary section, review the BGP service you have created. To make changes, click Back; otherwise, click Save & Close.
