The Web Content Discovery report provides organizations visibility to help them identify high-risk activities in use across their network and by who and by what device. While the Threat Defense capability to report and block based on web content has long been an important part of the existing solution, this new interface provides a simple means of viewing all activities without requiring any new logging policies to be created. The Web Content Discovery report includes data on top web content category, top high risk category, and top devices residing on your network and accessing high risk web content. Using the Content Discovery report allows your organization to filter and pivot across categories and protected assets operating on your network.
The new interface identifies all known web traffic by category, and it also identifies specific categories associated with a higher risk to organizations. The data reported in the Web Content Discovery report is information collected prior to applying security policy rules. Web Content Discovery can be an important new tool in helping to create your security and organizational policy around appropriate Internet usage. Web Content Discovery makes it is possible to browse traffic based on category on your network and identify potential threats based on category. You can provide feedback for any specific threat category by running a Dossier search and submitting the Dossier feedback form located on the Dossier Summary page. To access the Web Content Discovery, go to Reports > Web Content Discovery.
Application Discovery, which is accessed from Reports > Application Discovery, provides a means of detecting and managing the types and numbers of all applications on your organization's network: those approved and supported, awaiting review and approval, and not approved.
Web Content Discovery available to subscribers of BloxOne Threat Defense Advanced.
