Primary DNS Zones that sync with Azure DNS can be serviced by BloxOne DDI hosts that are running DNS.  Once a BloxOne DDI host has been assigned to a Azure DNS zone in the Cloud Services Portal, the BloxOne DDI host will be capable of resolving DNS queries for that zone without having to recurse to Azure DNS.  BloxOne DDI hosts can be assigned to both public and private Azure DNS synchronized zones.

Steps to assign BloxOne DDI host to Route53 synced zone:

  1. Go to Manage > DNS.

  2. Select the DNS view where your Azure DNS zones have been synced.

  3. Select Azure DNS synced zone and click Edit.

  4. Select the Authoritative DNS Servers drop-down.

  5. Drag and drop the BloxOne DDI service instance(s) that you wish to have service the zone from left to right.

  6. Click Save & Close.

BloxOne DDI hosts can be assigned to a zone in a similar fashion when creating a zone that also has a Third-party DNS provider assigned. The zone will be created in Cloud Services Portal, pushed to the BloxOne DDI host and synced to Azure DNS.  Future changes or edits performed in the Cloud Services Portal or Azure DNS will be synchronized to all three entities (Cloud Services Portal, BloxOne host(s) and Azure DNS).

Azure DNS associated zone creation on the CSP platform is currently supported for public zones only.
