Configuring Anycast for Hosts


Note

Anycast must be enabled on the host prior to configuring it for use with host. For information on enabling the host for anycast, see Viewing and Modifying Host Configuration.

To add an Anycast Configuration Profile to a Host, complete the following:

  1. From the Cloud Services Portal, click Manage > Hosts.
  2. Select the host to be configured from among the list of hosts.
  3. Click Service and then select Anycast.
  4. From the Anycast options, select Configure to open the Configure Anycast page.
  5. In the ANYCAST CONFIG PROFILE section, click Add to add an available Anycast Configuration to the profile.
  6. In the Add IPv4 OSPF Area section of the OSPF Configuration section, complete the following:
    • Area Type: Choose Standard, NSSA, or Stub from the options. 
    • Area ID: Add the Area ID in the Area ID field.
    • Advertising Interface: Add the name of the advertising interface in the Advertising Interface field.
    • Authentication Type: Choose either Clear or MD5 from the list options. 
    • Key: Add the key value in the Key field. 
    • Cost: Add the cost to the Cost field.
    • Hello Interval(s): Add the hello interval in the Hello Interval(s) field.
    • Dead interval(s): Add the dead interval in the Dead Interval(s) field. 
    • Retransmit Interval(s): Add the retransmit interval in the Retransmit Interval(s) field.
    • Transmit Delay(s): Add the transmit delays in the Transmit Interval(s) field.
    • Click Add to save the OSPF configuration.

       7. In the Add BGP CONFIGURATION section of the BGP Configuration section, complete the following:

    • ASN: Add the ASN (Autonomous System Number) to the field (IMPORTANT!). BGP uses the unique ASN to identify each system. BloxOne supports up to 4-byte ASNs, including ASPLAIN and ASDOT formats.
    • BGP Timers: Provide a Keep Alive time and a Hold Down time.

        8. In the BGP NEIGHBOR CONFIGURATION subsection, click Add to add the following to the Add BGP Neighbor Configuration:

    • Neighbor Router: Add information for the neighborhood router.
    • Remote ASN: Add the remote ASN to the field. BloxOne supports up to 4-byte ASNs, including ASPLAIN and ASDOT formats.
    • Password: Provide the account password.
    • Enable Multihop: Check this box to enable Multihop. 
    • Hop Limit: If Multihop is enabled, then add the hop limit value in the Hop Limit field.
      • Click Add to save the BGP configuration.
      • NEIGHBOR ROUTER: Check this box to enable the neighborhood router.

        9. Click Save & Close to save the Anycast Host configuration.
