Creating Zone Delegation

You can delegate a zone to an Authoritative DNS Server. 

To create a zone delegation, complete the following:

  1. From the Infoblox Portal, click Configure > Networking > DNS.

  2. Click the respective DNS view. 
  3. Click Create > Zone > Zone Delegation.
  4. Configure the following in the Create Zone Delegation screen:
    • Parent Zone: Choose the parent zone. 
    • Name: Specify the name of the child zone. 
    • Description: Specify a description. 
    • Authoritative DNS Servers: Click Add and configure the following:
      • Name: Enter the name of the DNS server.
      • IP Address: Enter the IP address of the DNS server.
  5. Click Save & Close.
