AWS Route53 private hosted zones can be synchronized with BloxOne DDI into a single DNS View that is separate from the DNS view that public hosted zones are synchronized into. With the Split View feature, all AWS R53 private hosted zones are placed into a DNS view that is automatically created by the BloxOne DDI platform during synchronization. The DNS view created by BloxOne for private hosted zones will contain "split-view-private" as a suffix in its name.

The Split View feature can be leveraged to assist in synchronizing zones into separate views so that with the addition of match-clients ACLs, a different DNS query response can be delivered based on the source of the query (split horizon).

The following diagram explains the Split View:

Complete the following steps to enable spit-view:

  1. Go to Manage > DNS.

  2. Go to Third-Party DNS Providers page.

  3. Click click Create and select AWS.

  4. Configure the Third-party DNS Provider details as required. Fore more information, see Creating Third Party DNS Providers.

  5. Toggle the Split View option to enabled.

  6. Click Next.

  7. Click Save & Close.

Split View and Consolidate Public/Private Zone data into this DNS View features are mutually  exclusive. Both configuration options cannot be edited/changed after the Third-party DNS Provider has been created.
