Use compartments to segregate divisional access control. Within your BloxOne account, you can create compartments that cater to your organizational requirements by providing tailored access for specific resources and users. For detailed information about compartments, see About Compartments.

To create a compartment, do the following:

  1. From the Cloud Services Portal, click Administration > User Access.

  2. Click Compartments at the top Action bar, and then click Create Compartment.

  3. In the Create Compartment dialog, do the following:

    • Name: Enter the name of the compartment you wish to add. To align your compartment with the relevant user roles and user groups, it may be beneficial to include your division name in the compartment name. Additionally, consider incorporating "admin" or "user" into your user group name to distinguish between different user groups. This best practice can help facilitate distinction between compartments if you intend to create multiple compartments in the future. Note that you cannot modify the name of the compartment once you create it.

    • Description: Enter a description of this compartment.

    • Tags: Click the down arrow and then Add to specify the keys to be associated with the host:

      • KEY: Enter a meaningful name for the key.

      • VALUE: Select the appropriate checkbox, and enter the value for the associated key. For details, see Managing tags.

  4. Click Save & Close to add the compartment.

Once a compartment is created, you cannot delete it.
