Configuring Source Based Routing

In the Source Interface step of the Create <Service> wizard, you configure SBR (Source-Based Routing) to direct service traffic to a specific destination based on the source IP address or a combination of the source and destination IP addresses. Rules defining SBR take precedence over ordinary destination-based routing rules.

To configure source-based routing, complete the following:

  • SOURCE INTERFACE: This section displays information about the network interface of your NIOS-X servers:

    • NIOS-X server NAME: The name of the configured NIOS-X server.

    • NETWORK INTERFACE From the drop-down list, choose the interface on which you want to configure as the source.

    • IP ADDRESS: The IP address of the source network interface.

  • DESTINATION: Click Add to add the destination to which you want to route the source traffic.

    • CIDR: Enter the CIDR for the destination.

    • PORT: Enter the port used for the destination.

    • PROTOCOL: Choose either TCP or UDP to use as the routing protocol.

Click Next to proceed to the next step. Note that all required information must be added prior to proceeding to the next step. If any required information is left empty, you will see an error icon next to the page.

To change information in the previous step, click Back to return to the previous page, or click Cancel to exit without saving the configuration. If you have completed all edits and configuration, click Finish.
