Creating a Custom Image from the Uploaded Image
After uploading the vNIOS image as defined in the Uploading the vNIOS Image in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure section, use the vNIOS image to create a custom image that you can use to deploy the vNIOS appliance on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. To create a custom image, complete the following steps:

If you are deploying a vNIOS appliance by using a partner image published by Infoblox in Marketplace, skip this procedure and directly deploy the instance as described in Deploying vNIOS for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
- In the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Console, click the Navigation menu icon at the upper left-hand corner.
- Under Core Infrastructure, click Compute -> Custom Images.
- On the Custom Images page, click Import Image.
- In the Import Image dialog box, complete the following:
- Create in Compartment: Select the compartment to store the image that you are creating.
- Name: Enter a name for the image.
- Operating System: Select Linux.
- Import from an Object Storage Bucket: Select it and complete the following:
- Bucket in <compartment_name>: Select the bucket that has the image you downloaded. For steps, see Uploading the vNIOS Image in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
- Object Name: Select the name of the downloaded image.
- Image Type: Select QCOW2.
- Launch Mode: Select Paravirtualized Mode.
- Click Import Image and wait for importing to complete. Note that this process takes several minutes to complete.
