Assignment of a new BloxOneInfoblox Endpoint takes place at the time of its installation. By default, a newendpoint is assigned to the All BloxOne Endpoints Infoblox Endpoints (Default) group. To override the default assignment, assign the endpoint to acustom endpoint group that must already have been created in the Cloud Services the Infoblox Portal beforethe endpoint is installed. You cannot assign an endpoint to a custom endpoint group in the following scenarios: Scenario 1: The endpointhas a clientID associated with it.In this scenario, the endpoint will be assigned back to All BloxOne InfobloxEndpoints (Default). Scenario 2: Another endpoint is currently assigned to the same custom endpoint group. In this scenario, the other endpoint will remainassigned to the group, the client ID which is associated with the endpoint groupwill remain with the otherendpoint and cannot be reassigned or transferred to the new endpoint, and the new endpoint will be assigned to the default endpoint group. |

Endpoint to a Custom Endpoint Group
To add a new endpoint to a custom endpoint group, do the following:
- In the Cloud Services the Infoblox Portal, go to Manage Configure > Security > Endpoints > Endpoint Groups.
- On the Endpoint Groups page, click Create. This will create the endpoint group where you will be installing the endpoint.
- In the Endpoint Group Name field on the Create Endpoints Group page, provide a name for the new endpoint group.
- Click Save & Close to save the newly created group. Alternatively, complete the configuration process for the endpoint group prior to saving it. For additional information on creating and configuring an endpoint group, see Creating BloxOne Endpoint Groups.
- Download the BloxOne Endpoint Infoblox Endpoint installer from from Configure >Administration > Downloads > Endpoint and click Refresh to verify the new endpoint has been installed in the new custom endpoint group. On the Endpoint Groups page, the number of endpoints in the endpoint group will be updated to reflect the addition of an endpoint to the group. For information see Downloading BloxOne Endpoint.
- Unzipthe downloaded folder and openthe configuration file, endpoint_group.txt.
- In the file, add the name of the created BloxOne Infoblox group. Save and close the file.
- Click BloxOne Endpoint Infoblox Endpoint installer and wait for the installation process to complete.
- In the Cloud Services the Infoblox Portal, navigate to ManageConfigure > Security > Endpoints > Endpoint Groups, click Refresh, and verify thatthe new endpointhas been installed in the new custom endpoint group. On the Endpoint Groups page, the number of endpoints in the endpoint group will be updated to reflect the addition of anendpoint to the group..

If you add the installed endpoint to the configuration file before adding the endpointto the Cloud Services the Infoblox Portal, then the endpointwill be added to the default endpoint group, All BloxOneInfoblox Endpoints (Default). In addition, if the endpoint group you added to the configuration file has a name that differs from that ofthe endpoint group you have just created.
