Infoblox allows you to reset the B1-105 appliance to factory default when necessary. You can reset the B1-105 appliance to the factory default if necessary.

When you reset the appliance, all configuration and software version on the appliance will be reset to the factory default.

Resetting via the USB Stick

To reset the B1-105 appliance, complete the following:

  1. You must first obtain a USB flash drive with an EXT4 file system and ‘touch’ a file named “dofactoryreset” in the root file system of the USB.

  1. You must “touch” the EXT4 file before each use on the same appliance.

Factory Reset Procedure


  1. Connect the USB stick to the B1-105 appliance.
  2. The appliance will detect the settings on the USB drive and begin performing the factory reset operation.
  3. During the reset process, the appliance reboots and resets itself to the default settings.
  4. Once the reset process is complete, you can
  5. follow the procedures described in the Setting up the B1-105 Appliance section in this document to re-configure the appliance
  6. set up the reconfigure the appliance, as described in Setting up the B1-105.

Resetting via the Device UI

To reset the B1-105 appliance using the Device UI, complete the following. For information about the Device UI, see Troubleshooting Hosts.

  1. Log in to the Cloud Services Portal.
  2. Click Manage -> On-Prem Hosts.
  3. On the On-Prem Hosts page, click On-Prem Hosts drop-down menu -> Local Access to enable local access to the B1-105 appliance via the Device UI.
  4. In the Enable Local Access dialog, complete the following:
    • Username: Enter the log in user name for the B1-105 appliance.
    • Password: Enter the last eight digits of the serial number for the B1-105 appliance.
  5. Click Enable.

    Local access to the B1-105 appliance is now enabled. You can now reset the device through the Device UI.


  6. Log in to the Device UI.
  7. Click AdministrationReset Host from the left pane menu.
  8. On the Administration page, click Reset for Factory Reset.
  9. In the Confirm your action dialog, complete the following:
    • Enter your password: Enter the last eight-digit serial number of your B1-105 appliance.
  10. Click Confirm to proceed with the factory reset.
  11. Once the reset process is complete, you can set up and reconfigure the appliance, as described in Setting up the B1-105.
