Note
The Cloud Services Portal displays notifications for specific events, such as license expiration or CPU usage that exceeds threshold for hosts. You can configure notifications to be delivered through emails and/or in-app banners. You can override the default delivery methods and set up thresholds for certain service notifications. Infoblox implements deduplication for notifications to prevent notification floods, which identifies identical notifications and sets a grace period to stop duplicate notifications before sending them again.
Note
Alert Notifications
Notifications and alerts are archived after they have been in the DISMISSED state for at least 12 hours. Alerts become DISMISSED when the Clear List button is clicked after clicking on the notification bell. The DISMISSED alerts will become visible again when the user clicks View all notifications until such time they are archived. When notifications and alerts are archived, they will no longer be visible or accessible.
You can also configure other services, such as PagerDuty or custom webhook, for your notifications. For more information about service integrations, see Configuring Service Integrations.
The Manage > Notifications > All Notifications page displays all the notifications generated for your system. You can view the ones that are relevant for troubleshooting purposes.
Alternatively, you can click the icon at the top of the left navigation panel to display the most recent notifications. In the Notification panel, you can also click View all notifications to see all the notifications, click Clear List to clear the notifications, or click the icon to configure notification settings. For information about how to configure notification settings, see Configuring Notification Settings.
Note
Each notification has a prefix that indicates the nature of the event. For example, you might see the following prefixes: ALERT and RESOLVED. Once an event is resolved, you will no longer receive notifications about that event.
The following are the type of delivered notifications:
- Account notifications: These are notifications generated from admin account activities, such as identity services, password reset, or license expiration. Please realize that license expiration notifications are received only through the Cloud Services Portal and not through the email service.
- Service notifications: These are notifications generated from applications that contain threshold configurations, such as memory usage or CPU usage for hosts.
Note
Individual users can opt-out of specific notifications by updating their User Preferences and selecting the notifications they want to receive. Individual settings do not affect the global settings for other users.
You can also do the following in this tab:
- Filter the notifications by Severity, or select Show All to display all the notifications. The Cloud Services Portal displays all notification by default.
- Click Delete All Notifications to remove all the notifications.
- Click Refresh to refresh the All Notifications page.
- Enter a value in the Search text box to return notifications that contain the key word in the text box.
- Click the Service Integrations tab to view all service integrations you have configured.
