Setting User Preferences

On the User Preferences page, you may update your user information such as modifying your full name or changing your password.

To set or update your user preferences, complete the following:

  1. Log in to Infoblox Portal.

  2. Click your user name at the top right corner of the Portal and select Profile from the menu.

  3. On the User Preferences page, complete the following to set or update your account profile:

    • Full Name: This displays your full name. You can modify this to create a new name or correct existing errors.

    • Time Zone: This displays the time zone being used for the user account. The default is in UTC time format. You can choose a different time zone from the drop-down list. Setting the correct time zone is important for reporting purposes. For example, if you want to see reports with timestamps published in your time zone, set the applicable time zone accordingly.

    • Email: This displays your email address. You cannot modify this once your email has been set. Contact your system administrator if you need to update the email address.

    • Appearance: Toggle the Dark Mode switch to the right to turn on dark mode on the Infoblox Portal. The switch turns green when you enable dark mode. Toggle the switch to the left to return off dark mode. The switch turns blue when dark mode is off.

    • Password: Click Change Password if you want to change your password. Depending on your organization's authentication process, you will be redirected to an applicable page in a separate browser window. Follow the instructions on that page to change your password.

    • Access Views: If your organization utilizes access views for access control, you will see this section in your user profile. Otherwise, you will not see this section. The following is a summary of possible scenarios based on your access view configuration. For information about access views, see Configuring Access Views.

      • No access views assigned: If no access view has been created for the organization or if you have not been assigned to a specific access view or access views as an administrator or user, you will not see the Access Views section. However, you may still access Infoblox Portal normally.

      • A single access view assigned: This is the only access view selection, and you are automatically navigated to it upon login. If you have been assigned other permissions in addition to those within the assigned access view, choose All in the drop-down menu to access those functionalities.

      • Multiple access view(s) assigned: If you have access to multiple access views, you may view the list of access view(s) to which you are assigned by clicking the drop-down menu. The oldest access view is the default selection. You can switch to a specific access view by choosing it from the drop-down menu and clicking Select. The system switches to the selected access view after you click Select. If you have been assigned other permissions in addition to those within your assigned access view, choose All in the drop-down menu to access those functionalities.

Note

If your organization uses a third-party identity provider for authentication purposes, you will not be able to change your password through Infoblox Portal. Contact your system administrator for information on how to change your password.

Click Save to save the configuration.
