An edge connectivity policy defines the parameters you need to specify to establish inter-edge connectivity by using IPSec tunnels. When you associate an edge connectivity policy with an edge connectivity profile or a third-party connectivity profile, you define the connectivity parameters for the policy by setting the parameters in the policy.

To create an edge connectivity policy, you specify the protocol type, encapsulation mode, vendor type, and PSK (pre-shared key). To define the tunnel connection, you associate the policy with an edge connectivity profile or a third-party connectivity profile. For more information, see Creating Edge Connectivity Policies, Configuring Third Party Connectivity, and BloxOne Service Edge.

The Edge Connectivity Policies page of the Cloud Services Portal displays the following information for each edge connectivity policy:

  • NAME: The name of the policy.
  • TYPE: The connectivity type of the policy.  The default is IPSec (Internet Protocol Security), which authenticates and encrypts data packets to provide secure encrypted communication between two edges over an internet protocol network.

You can do the following on the Edge Connectivity Policies page:

  • View the Connectivity Type, Vendor, Mode, Pre-Shared Key, and other details of a policy: Select the policy and view its details in the panel on the right or by clicking .
  • Modify a policy: Click  Edit, or select the checkbox for the policy and click the Edit button.
  • Remove a policy: Select the policy and click  Remove or click the Remove button.
  • Search for policies by keyword: In the Search text box, enter the keyword that you want to search on. The application displays the policies that match the keyword.
