Routing is the process of defining the route along which data packets travel across networks, from their source to their destination. Routers use routing tables to determine the path on which data packets travel across networks. In BloxOne Service Edge, you can define routing rules to dynamically manage the path for your data packets. Routing rules help you determine what should happen to the data packets and where they should be going based on your business and networking requirements. For information about BloxOne Service Edge, see BloxOne Service Edge.

A routing policy consists of multiple routing rules you have configured. When you group a set of routing rules into a routing policy, you create a portfolio of routing rules that you use to protect your networks in a specific manner. Routing policies allow you to assign a group of routing rules to your edge profiles.

On the Routing Policies page, the Cloud Services Portal displays the following information for each policy:

  • NAME: The name of the policy.
  • DESCRIPTION: The description of the policy.
  • RULES: The number of rules associated with the policy.

You can do the following on the Routing Policies page:

    • View the PriorityRules, and other details of a policy: Select the policy and view its details in the panel on the right or by clicking the  .icon.
    • Clone a policy: Select the checkbox for the policy > click Clone > edit the cloned policy details.
