By default the Application Threshold configuration for Host Disk Usage is set to 90%. This value should be configured to 70% (or any value less than 80%). CDC has the clean-up mechanism implemented which gets triggered on the on-prem hosts as soon as the disk usage reaches 80%. To receive threshold notifications, it should be set to the value lesser than the clean-up threshold value. The suggested Threshold configuration is 70%. Notifications can be configured in the Cloud Services Portal in the Application Thresholds section under Host Disk Usage  (Manage > Notifications > Notification Settings > Application Thresholds  > Host Disk Usage).
