You can reactivate a revoked tag when necessary. When you reactivate a tag, the tag will associate with the objects that it was previously assigned to. In addition, the tag will retain its original set of values.

Note

When you reactivate a revoked tag after you have modified any configuration of an object that previously contained the revoked tag, the revoked tag will not associate with the object again even after you reactivate it. For example, when you revoke a tag that is associated with a host, the tag is removed from the host. You then modify the description of the host and save the configuration. Now you reactivate the revoked tag, but the tag will no longer associate with the host even though it has been reactivated.

To reactivate a tag, complete the following:

  1. From the Cloud Services Portal, click Administration -> Tags.
  2. Select a previously revoked tag and click Reactivate, or select the revoked tag and click  -> Reactivate. You can also select multiple revoked tags and reactivate them at the same time.
  3. In the confirmation dialog, click Reactivate to confirm the action. The tag is now reactivated and becomes Active again.
