The first step to set up DNS Traffic Control is to create a DTC Server. For more information, see Configuring DNS Traffic Control .

To create a DTC Server, do the following:

  1. Go to Manage > DNS.

  2. Click DTC and choose DTC Servers.

  3. Click Create DTC Server.

  4. Configure the following in the Create DTC Server screen:

    • State: Choose whether the DTC server is Enabled or Disabled. By default, it is Enabled.

    • Name: Specify a name for the DTC server.

    • Description: Specify a description for the DTC server.

    • Address: Specify the IP address or domain name of the DTC server.

    • Configure Synthesized Responses: Click Add Record and configure the following:

      • Type: Choose the type of the record. You can choose A Record, AAAA Record, and CNAME Record.

      • Value: Specify the value for the record.

    • Tags: Optionally, specify tags. For more information, see Managing Tags.

  5. Click Save & Close.
