To manage service traffic efficiently, use service instances to bind your services to specific network interfaces.

While creating a service, you choose a host on which you want to run the service. You can reassign or transfer the service to a different host after you set up the service. This is useful if you need to update your network infrastructure or retire a specific host.

Use the following steps to create these services: Access Authentication, Anycast, BGP Routing Protocol, Data Connector, DNS Forwarding Proxy, MS AD Sync, NTP, OSPF Routing Protocol, RIP Routing Protocol, and NIOS Grid Connector.

The interface binding feature is currently unavailable for the NIOS Grid Connector service. The Create <Service> wizard will guide you through the applicable steps when creating a service.

To create a supported service instance, do the following:

  1. Log in to the Cloud Services Portal.

  2. Go to Manage > Infrastructure > Services.

  3. Click Create Service.

  4. From the drop down menu, select the service instance you want to create.

  5. In the Create <Service> wizard, follow the steps in the wizard to create the service.
