NIOS-X Server assignment to Route53 synced zone

Primary DNS Zones that sync with Route53 can be serviced by Universal DDI hosts that are running DNS.  Once a BloxOne DDI host has been assigned to a Route53 zone in CSP, the NIOS-X Server will be capable of resolving DNS queries for that zone without having to recurse to Route53.  NIOS-X Servers can be assigned to both public and private Route53 synchronized zones.

Steps to assign BloxOne DDI host to Route53 synced zone:

  1. Go to Configure > Networking > DNS.

  2. Select the DNS view where your Route53 zones have been synced.

  3. Select Route53 synced zone and click Edit.

  4. Select the Authoritative DNS Servers drop-down.

  5. Drag and drop the Universal DDI service instance(s) that you wish to have service the zone from left to right.

  6. Click Save & Close.

Universal DDI NIOS-X Servers can be assigned to a zone in a similar fashion when creating a zone that also has a Third-party DNS provider assigned.  The zone will be created in Infoblox Portal, pushed to the Universal DDI NIOS-X Server and synced to Route53.  Future changes or edits performed in the Infoblox Portal or Route53 will be synchronized to all three entities (Infoblox Portal, NIOS-X Server(s) and Route53).
