NIOS-X Server assignment to Azure synced zone
Primary DNS Zones that sync with Azure can be serviced by Universal DDI NIOS-X Servers that are running DNS. Once a NIOS-X Server has been assigned to an Azure zone in CSP, the NIOS-X Server will be capable of resolving DNS queries for that zone without having to recurse to Azure. NIOS-X Servers can be assigned to both public and private Azure synchronized zones.
Steps to assign NIOS-X Server to Azure synced zone:
Go to Configure > Networking > DNS.
Select the DNS view where your Azure zones have been synced.
Select Azure synced zone and click Edit.
Select the Authoritative DNS Servers drop-down.
Drag and drop the Universal DDI service instance(s) that you wish to have serviced the zone from left to right.
Click Save & Close.
NIOS-X Servers can be assigned to a zone in a similar fashion when creating a zone that also has a Third-party DNS provider assigned. The zone is created in the Infoblox Portal, pushed to the NIOS-X Server and synced to Azure DNS. Future changes or edits performed in the Infoblox Portal or Azure will be synchronized to all three entities (Infoblox Portal, BloxOne NIOS-X Server, and Azure).
