Creating DHCP Subnet Profiles

The DHCP subnet profiles are applicable to the subnets they are assigned to. All the settings are inherited from the Global DHCP Configuration. However, at the DHCP subnet profile level, you can override the values inherited from the Global DHCP Configuration.

To create a DHCP config profile:

  1. From the Infoblox Portal, click Configure > Networking > IPAM/DHCP > DHCP Config Profiles > Create DHCP Subnet Profile.
  2. On the Create DHCP Subnet Profile page, specify the following:
    • Name: Enter a name for the DHCP config profile.
    • Description: Enter additional information about the DHCP subnet profile.
    • Tags: For information about tags, see Managing Tags.
    • Configure the following:
      • Leases: You can set parameters to control how the DHCP server responds to lease requests for clients and hardware. See Defining Lease Times
      • DHCP Options: DHCP options provide specific configuration and service information to DHCP clients. See Configuring DHCP Options
      • DDNS: DDNS updates go to Universal DDI managed zones or zones hosted by an external DNS server. For example, you can configure NIOS as the external primary server. See Enabling DDNS for IPv4 Clients
      • Filters: To control how Universal DDI allocates IPv4 addresses, you can define DHCP filters and apply them to the DHCP config profile. See Configuring DHCP Filters.
  3. Click Save & Close to save the details or click Cancel to exit.

When you create a DHCP Subnet Profile, you can view the leases, DHCP options, DDNS details, and filters that are inherited from the Global DHCP Configuration. You can also override these values. For more information, see Global DHCP Configuration
