Creating External Licenses

Before you can use a stored external license to obtain Dossier data from within the Infoblox Portal, you must first create it. To create an external license, complete the following:

  1. From the Infoblox Portal, click Configure > Administration > External Licenses.
  2. On the External Licenses page, click Add License at the top Action bar.
  3. On the Add External License page, complete the following:
    • Name: Enter the name or identifier of the organization's key.
    • Vendor: Enter the vendor’s name for which the key applies from among the drop-down options. Currently, Virus Total and Mandiant are supported. 
    • License Type: Enter the license type from among the available drop-down menu options. Currently only license keys are supported. Other license types will be supported in the future.
    • License Data: Information regarding the license data. NOTE: When viewing the external license page, the API key is obfuscated.
    • Active: The status of the key, whether active or inactive. Status can be changed from Yes to No by toggling the switch. By default, the license key status is set to Active. 
    • ID: Your user identification (required for Mandiant)
    • Secret: Your secret word/phrase (required for Mandiant)
    4. When you finish creating your license key, click Save & Close to save the configuration and to close the Add External License dialogue.
