Viewing the Application Discovery Summary

The Summary  page of the Application Summary Report provides insightful reports and tallies of all applications detected on your network: applications that are approved, and applications that require review. To access the Summary page, navigate to Monitor > Reports > Application Discovery.

The following reports are available on the Summary page: 

  • TOP APPLICATIONS NEEDING REVIEW - DEVICES: A list of the top applications that need review, and the number of devices associated with each application. Click View all to display the list on the Applications page. 
  • TOP DEVICES WITH UNAPPROVED APPLICATIONS - APPS: A list of the top devices, the number of unapproved applications they are using, and the locations of these devices. Click View all to display the list on the Applications page. 
  • TOP APPLICATIONS UNAPPROVED - REQUESTS: A list of the top unapproved applications and the number of requests each application is making on your organization's network. Click View all to display the list on the Applications page. 
  • TOP APPLICATIONS USED - REQUESTS: A list of the top applications and the number of requests each application is making on your organization's network. Click View all to display the list on the Applications page.
  • TOP APPLICATION CATEGORIES - APPLICATIONS USED: A list of the top application categories and the number of applications within each category. Click View all to display the list on the Applications page.

You can do the following on the Summary page:

  • Click the hourglass icon to view all background tasks currently being undertaken. 
  • Click the search icon to perform a global search by inputting your search criteria in the search field located in the top-right quadrant of the page.
  • Click the refresh icon to refresh the data displayed on the page.
  • Click Show to select a time period for the displayed data records:
    • 1 hour
    • 24 hours
    • 48 hours 
    • 7 days
    • 1 month
    • Custom (limited to 30 days of data): When Custom is selected, the following date and time filters appear:
      • From: A time dial and a calendar where the start date and time can be selected
      • To: A time dial and calendar where the end date and time can be selected 
  • Click the expoert icon to export a CSV-formatted file that contains all Application Summary records.Â
