Product Overview
The Infoblox Advanced Appliance PT-2200 is a high performance Infoblox network appliance that supports the Infoblox ADP (Advanced DNS Protection) solution. With valid licenses installed, the PT-2200 provides a hardware-accelerated solution to DNS threats targeting DNS caching and authoritative applications.
The integrated Infoblox approach combines the simplicity of appliance with the power of advanced distributed database technology to control and automate network services, while achieving availability, manageability, visibility, and control unmatched by conventional solutions based on legacy technologies. You configure and manage the PT-2200 through an easy-to-use Infoblox GUI that works seamlessly in Windows, Linux, and Mac environments using standard web browsers. Key features of the Infoblox Advanced Appliance PT-2200 include the following:
- Three (3) active 1GbE Ethernet interfaces: two (2) active interfaces to support Advanced DNS Protection features, and one interface (MGMT) designated for device management.
- Supports management through the Infoblox Grid.
- Lights Out Management support.
- Replaceable hard disk drives.
- Hot-swappable AC or DC power supplies in a redundant 1+1 configuration.
- Alternative system configurations for the support of copper or fiber SFP 1GbE interfaces, with support for mixed copper/fiber configurations.
The PT-2200 appliance is a Class A digital appliance per FCC regulations, and is RoHS and WEEE compliant.
Note: The Advanced DNS Protection solution supports DNS services, DNS Anycast, BGP and OSPF, and the NTP service. No other services, including DHCP core services, are supported. Advanced DNS Protection appliances also do not support High Availability redundancy; thus the HA interfaces are inactive.
