NIOS comes with its own hardware box (called an appliance). When you buy NIOS, you get:

• NIOS software
• A physical box (hardware) that NIOS will be installed on
  This box is called an appliance.

Ensure that you verify the hardware that you receive.

When you buy NIOS, it is already pre-installed on the appliance. This is done by the Infoblox support team. You only have to configure NIOS using the UI (also called the Grid Manager).

Verifying the Hardware

To verify the secure delivery of the hardware:

• Use the tracking number of the order to review the status of the shipment.
• Inspect the tamper-evident seals for any signs of tampering.
• Verify the product by comparing the shipping slip with the invoice.

Prerequisites

Before you begin the configuration, ensure that you have all the necessary components. The following are needed and must be acquired before continuing with this guidance:

• One of the following supported Infoblox appliance models: Trinzic 810, 820, 1410, 1420, 2210 and 2220; an IB-4010, 4030 and 4040; PT-1400, 2200, 4000 and 4000-10GE; and ND-800, 1400, 2200 and 4000 running NIOS version 7.1.
• A management station or computer from which you configure and manage the NIOS appliance. See Support Matrix for the system and browser requirements.
• The IP address of the appliance on your network.
