Reloading Extensible Attributes

Reloading Extensible Attributes

The extensible attributes from NIOS are cached in the Infoblox IPAM Plug-in for VMware. Therefore, if an extensible attribute is added, changed, or deleted in NIOS, you need to reload your extensible attributes in the Infoblox IPAM Plug-in for the changes to apply.

Note

If you are running vRA 7.6, when you add, update, or delete an extensible attribute in NIOS, you must log in to the vRO legacy client and reload the extensible attributes as described in this topic, and then refresh the vRO web client page for the changes to show on the web client. The web client does not have an option to reload extensible attributes as vRA 7.6 does not have the caching ability.

To reload extensible attributes:

  1. In the vRO client of vRA 7.5 or in the vRO legacy client of vRA 7.6, click the Inventory tab.
  2. Expand Infoblox IPAM –> IP address of the NIOS appliance –> Extensible Attributes.
  3. Right-click Extensible Attributes and select Reload or press the F5 hot key.

You can also reload extensible attributes using the IpamConnection.reloadExtensibleAttributeDefinitions() API method.
