The following table lists NIOS licenses and the behavior when the subscription licenses expire:

The expired subscription license continues to operate, local RPZ feeds continue to operate. However, subscription feeds from the Infoblox Threat Defense Portal stop updating.

  • When installed on a member that has no other Infoblox licenses installed, you can Join the member to a Grid.

  • When installed on a Grid Master, you can get the UID required to obtain dynamic licenses.

Functionality continues to work as is with existing members. You may not be able to add new members to the Grid.

Functionality continues to work as is for all features except for the Grid license, where functionality works for existing members. You may not be able to add new members to the Grid.

The Flex Grid Activation for Managed Services license installed only on Grid Master or a standalone appliance, includes the same set of licenses bundled with the Flex Grid Activation license.

Note

NTLMv2 is the only authentication method supported for Microsoft servers managed from Infoblox Grids. For information about managing Microsoft Windows servers from Grid Manager, see Managing Microsoft Windows Servers.

NIOS HA License Expiry

The following table lists NIOS HA licenses and the behavior when the subscription licenses expire.

The HA-Member’s Active node subscription license has expired, and the HA-Member’s Passive node temp_license is valid.

When the license expires on any one of the HA nodes, services running on the HA member is disabled.

Both the HA nodes restart to join the grid repeatedly.

The HA-Member’s Active node subscription license is valid, and the HA-Member’s Passive node temp_license has expired.

When the license expires on any one of the HA nodes, services running on the HA member is disabled.

The HA-Member’s Active node temp_license has expired, and the HA-Member’s Passive node subscription license is active.

When the license expires on any one of the HA nodes, services running on the HA member is disabled.

The HA-Member’s Active node temp_license is valid, and the HA-Member’s Passive node subscription license has expired.

When the license expires on any one of the HA nodes, services running on the HA member is disabled.

The HA-Member’s Active node temp_license has expired, and the HA-Member’s Passive node subscription license has expired.

When the license expires on any one of the HA nodes, services running on the HA member is disabled.

The HA-Member’s Active node subscription has expired/valid, and the HA-Member’s Passive node subscription license has expired/valid.

 

All the services continue to work as is.

The HA-Member’s Active node temp_license has expired, and the HA-Member’s Passive node temp_license has expired.

When the HA member's license expires, all the services are disabled, and the HA member is evicted.

The HA-Master’s Active node subscription license has expired, and the HA-Master’s Passive node temp_license is valid.

When the license expires on any one of the HA nodes, services running on the HA Master is disabled.

The HA-Master’s Active node subscription license is valid, and the HA-Member’s Passive node temp_license has expired.

When the license expires on any one of the HA nodes, services running on the HA Master is disabled.

The HA-Master’s Active node subscription license has expired, and the HA-Member’s Passive temp_license has expired.

When the license expires on any one of the HA nodes, services running on the HA Master is disabled.

The HA-Master’s Active node temp_license has expired, and the HA-Member’s Passive node subscription license is valid.

When the license expires on any one of the HA nodes, services running on the HA Master is disabled.

The HA-Master’s Active node temp_license is valid, and the HA-Member’s Passive node subscription license has expired.

When the license expires on any one of the HA nodes, services running on the HA Master is disabled.

Note that If the Stand Alone member's temp_license has expired, all the services are stopped and the Stand Alone member is evicted.
