Overview of Infoblox NIOS Modules for Ansible Collections
Ansible is an open source infrastructure-as-code tool from Red Hat. Administrators and developers use Ansible to manage infrastructure across multiple clouds and platforms. They also use it to easily automate the application of updates to machines on the network, management of devices on the network, and perform many other tasks. Ansible is available for Linux-based operating systems and can be installed on physical and virtual hosts. The content of Ansible is available in a distribution format called Ansible Collections; it includes playbooks, roles, modules, and plug-ins. You can install and use Ansible Collections through Ansible Galaxy.
The nios_modules
collection, henceforth referred to as Infoblox NIOS Modules for Ansible Collections, provides a set of modules and plug-ins for managing the NIOS Grid objects (such as networks, IP addresses, and DNS records) through APIs. The nios_modules
collection enables the DNS and IPAM automation of VM workloads deployed across multiple platforms and it is hosted on Ansible Galaxy under infoblox.nios_modules
. The collection is referenced in Ansible playbook tasks, which in turn enable you to perform the create, update, and delete operations on NIOS objects that the collections support. For the list of NIOS modules and plug-ins available in NIOS Modules for Ansible Collections, see Infoblox NIOS Modules and Infoblox NIOS Plug-Ins.
