Configuring Basic Settings
On the Basics tab of the Microsoft Azure portal, configure the basic settings as follows:
- In the Project details section complete the following:
- Subscription: Select the subscription on which you want to create the virtual appliance.
- Resource group: You must create a new resource group to which this virtual appliance belongs. Enter a unique name for this resource group. You will see an error message if you use the name of an existing resource group. A resource group is a collection of resources that share the same life cycle, permissions, and policies.
- In the Instance details section complete the following:
- Region: From the drop-down list, select the region in which the virtual appliance resides.
- NIOS model: From the drop-down list, choose the vNIOS model that must be installed on the VM.
- NIOS VM name: Enter the VM name that should be used in the Azure portal.
- Password for 'admin' user: Enter a password for the admin user. The admin user can make changes to all configuration for this virtual appliance.
- The password length must be between 6 to 64 characters long for NIOS 8.4.3 and between 12 to 64 characters long for NIOS 8.5.3 and NIOS 8.6.0.
- The password must fulfil at least any three of the following conditions: Upper case alphabetic character, lower case alphabetic character, numeric number, and special character.
Enter the password again to confirm.
Configuring Basic Settings
Click Next : VM Settings > after you complete the basic configuration. The portal prompts you to configure VM settings, as described in Configuring VM Settings.
