Deploying vNIOS for Azure from the Marketplace


Note

  • vNIOS for Azure virtual appliances can be deployed from Azure Marketplace on Azure public cloud and Azure Government cloud only.
  • Starting from NIOS 9.0.1, vNIOS for Azure virtual appliances can be deployed only with managed disks. Deploying the appliances with unmanaged disks is supported only on versions prior to NIOS 9.0.1.

You can easily download and deploy vNIOS for Azure virtual appliances directly from Azure Marketplace. The vNIOS for Azure virtual appliance is pre-configured for Microsoft Azure. Hence, you only need to take a few easy steps to complete the deployment.

Before deploying the appliances, ensure that your setup meets the requirements listed in the Prerequisites section. To deploy a vNIOS for Azure virtual appliance directly from Azure Marketplace, complete the following steps:

  1. For Azure, go to Microsoft Azure web site. For Azure Government Cloud, go to Microsoft Azure Government Cloud web site.
  2. Log in to your Microsoft Azure account.
  3. In the Microsoft Azure portal, enter "infoblox" as the search filter, and then select one of the Azure virtual appliances from the search results in the Marketplace section:

    • Click Infoblox NIOS 8.6.0 for DDI, to deploy vNIOS version 8.6.0.
    • Click Infoblox NIOS 8.6.3 for DDI, to deploy vNIOS version 8.6.3.
    • Click Infoblox NIOS 9.0.0 for DDI, to deploy vNIOS version 9.0.0.
    • Click Infoblox NIOS 9.0.1 for DDI, to deploy vNIOS version 9.0.1.
    • Click Infoblox NIOS 9.0.3 for DDI, to deploy vNIOS version 9.0.3.
    • Click Infoblox NIOS 9.0.4 for DDI, to deploy vNIOS version 9.0.4.
  4. Click Create, and then complete the steps described in the following topics to deploy vNIOS for Azure:
  5. To deploy vNIOS instances with high availability configuration, perform the steps described in Configuring the vNIOS Instance with High Availability.


Note

From Azure Marketplace you can deploy only one vNIOS instance per resource group, whereas, from the Azure CLI, you can deploy multiple vNIOS instances per resource group.
