Resetting via a USB Flash Drive
To reset the B1-105 appliance using a USB flash drive, complete the following:
Obtain a USB flash drive that supports FAT32 (for Windows) or EXT4 (for Linux) file system. Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port of the B1-105 appliance.
Add an empty file called “dofactoryreset” to the USB flash drive by doing one of the following:
- From the Cloud Services Portal, download the “dofactoryreset” file to the USB by clicking Administration -> Downloads -> Download Factory Reset.
For Linux, create a file called “dofactoryreset” in the root file system of the USB.
- Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port of the B1-105 appliance.
- The appliance detects the settings on the USB flash drive and begins performing the factory reset operation.
- During the reset process, the appliance reboots and resets itself to the default configuration.
- Once the reset process is complete, you can set up and reconfigure the appliance, as described in Deploying the B1-105 Appliance.
Important
If you use a USB drive that contains a previously downloaded or created “dofactoryreset” file, ensure that you change the timestamp of the file before resetting your B1-105 appliance.
