Limitations of NIOS-X as a Service

For DNS and DHCP, the following functionalities are not supported for NIOS-X as a service:

  • High Availability for DHCP

  • NTP

  • 3rd party IPAM providers such as Microsoft IPAM/DHCP and DNS

  • Anycast

  • EU Realm

  • GDPR

  • Azure POPs

  • DTC

  • BGP

  • Multi-Region HA

  • Overlapping IP spaces (on same service deployment)

  • IPv6

  • TD Captive Portal

  • Discovery

  • MS AD Sync

  • CDC

For Security, the following functionalities are not supported for NIOS-X as a service:

  • Geolocation, Safe Search, DoH per Policy, Block DNS rebinding attacks, and Local On-Prem Resolution.

  • Internal and Fallback DNS Resolvers and Internal Domain Lists.

  • When Creating a New Security Policy NIOS-X as a service can only be added as a DNS Forwarding Proxy source.
