Infoblox vNIOS for AWS AMI Shapes and Regions
This section lists the Infoblox vNIOS for AWS appliance models and their specifications. You can load the Infoblox vNIOS for AWS AMI (Amazon Machine Image) from the Infoblox Community AMI page and deploy it in your chosen VPC. For more information, see Obtaining the Infoblox vNIOS for AWS AMI.
Depending on your AWS region, the vNIOS for AWS model, and the NIOS release the appliance is running, select an appropriate EC2 shape by referring to the tables in the following sections:
Note
The Amazon EC2 instance types R6i and M5 are supported in NIOS 8.6.3 and later versions of 8.6.x.
For the new vNIOS for AWS models supported from NIOS 9.0.1 onwards, Infoblox recommends that you use SSDs for storage for better performance.. See the tables in this topic for supported models.
For information about vNIOS for AWS limitations, see the Limitations section.

Note
vNIOS for AWS is supported on IB-V4015 from NIOS 8.6.2 onwards and on IB-V4025 from NIOS 8.5.2 onwards.
vNIOS for AWS instances running on NIOS 8.5.2 and later versions can be deployed with IPv4 or IPv6 addresses. Infoblox recommends the following:
When setting up a vNIOS instance to work in dual mode (IPv4 and IPv6) or in an IPv6-only configuration, use a shape that is r4.4xlarge or larger.
When setting up an IPv6-only configuration, use IB-V4015 appliances running on NIOS 8.6.2 or IB-V4025 appliances running on NIOS 8.5.2 or later.
