Associating Resource Records Manually

You can configure DNS integration by associating a DNS View with an IP Space, so all DNS records can be automatically listed as related objects in the corresponding subnets. For more information see, Configuring DNS Views. Alternatively, you can associate the resource records manually.

To associate resource records manually, complete the following:

  • From the Infoblox Portal, click Configure > Networking > IPAM/DHCP > Address Spaces.

  • Click on the IP Space > Address Block > corresponding Subnet. It displays the list of addresses associated with the IP space.

  • Click the respective address you want to edit.

  • Under Related Objects, configure the following:

    • A Record: Go to Add > Record > A Record to add an A Record associated with this fixed address. Configure the settings for the A record and click Save & Close. For more information, see Creating an A Record.
    • PTR Record: Go to Add > Record > PTR Record to add a PTR record associated with this fixed address. Configure the settings for the A record and click Save & Close. For more information, see Creating a PTR Record.
  • Modify the details, then click Save & Close to save the record or click Cancel to cancel.

Note

Only the DNS records of associated DNS views are displayed in the subnet/range.

Note

You can add an A record with any valid IPv4 address. In the IPAM/DHCP application, only IP addresses in a subnet or range are shown.
