Configuring Address Spaces

An address space represents the entire network topology using a typical tree representation. The top nodes represent all address spaces in the current level and each node has further child nodes of all networks underneath it that are shown when you click on the entry. The bread crumbs at the top show the chain of all parent nodes of the current address space.

To view the list of address spaces, complete the following:

  1. From the Infoblox Portal, click Configure > Networking > IPAM/DHCP > Address Spaces.
  2. The application displays the following information:
  • ADDRESS / NAME: The name of the address space.
  • DESCRIPTION: Additional information about the address space.
  • UTILIZATION: The percentage of the total IPv4 DHCP utilization of the address space.
    • Red: The DHCP resources are utilized by 76%-100%.

    • Orange: The utilization percentage is between 51%-75%.

    • Green: The utilization percentage is between 0%-50%.

  • COMPARTMENT: The compartment that is associated with this address space. For more information, see Configuring Access Views. This feature is available only for users participating in the Early Access Program (EAP). For information about the EAP, visit Infoblox Early Access Program.

To view the list of zones in the flat zone view, complete the following:

  1. From the Infoblox Portal, click Configure > Networking > IPAM/DHCP > Address Spaces.
  2. Toggle Flat View to ON
  3. Universal DDI displays a list of address blocks and subnets with the following information:
    • Address: The IPv4 address or FQDN of the object. 

    • Type: The type of object, namely, address space, address block, range, or subnet.

    • Name: Name of the object. 

    • Overlap: Shows Yes if the object overlaps with any other address. Click Yes to see more information about the overlapping address blocks or subnets. 

    • Description: Description of the object. 

    • IPv4 Utilization: The IPv4 utilization. 

    • IP Space: The IP space for the object.

    • Usage: The usage for the object.

You can also perform the following in this tab:

  • Click the menu button, to reorder the columns or to select the columns to be displayed.
  • Click the menu button, , then Edit or select the check box for the respective record and click the Edit button to modify an address space.

  • Select an address space to view the additional details. You can view details like tags, leases, DHCP options, and filters. If you do not want to view the details in the right panel, click the info button.

  • Click the utilization details button, , to view the address space utilization details or click the tabular view button, , to view the details in a tabular format.

  • Enter the value that you want to search in the Search text box. Universal DDI displays the list of items matching the keyword in the database. You can search by Name, Description, or Tags (Tag key OR/AND Tag value). You cannot search by IPv4 Utilization.

  • Click the filter button, , to filter the objects by Address / Name, Description, or UtilizationTo save a filter after selecting the required parameters click the save button, , specify a name for the filter, and click Save & Close. To reload a previously saved filter, click the star button, , and select the required filter. 

  • Click the menu button, , then Move to Recycle Bin to move the object to the recycle bin. You can restore the object later or delete it permanently as required. For more information, see Recycle Bin.
