An edge is an on-prem host currently running one or both of the following edge services: BloxOne Service Edge Firewall and BloxOne Service Edge Router. Only on-prem hosts running the edge services appear on the Edges page. When you disable the edge services on an on-prem host, the edge remains on the Edges page and its status changes from CONNECTED to NOT CONNECTED. When you remove an edge from the Edges page, the on-prem host no longer appears on the Edges page. For information about BloxOne Service Edge, see BloxOne Service Edge.

The Edges page of the Cloud Services Portal displays the following information for each edge:

  • ON-PREM HOST: The name of the on-prem host that has the service edge services enabled.
  • OPHID: The auto-generated unique ID of the on-prem host.
  • SERVER CLUSTER ID: The ID of the server cluster to which the edge belongs.
  • PROFILES: The number of profiles associated with the edge. When you expand PROFILES, the details of the profiles appear in the panel on the right.
  • LABELS: The number of edge groups to which the edge belongs. When you expand  LABELS, the details of the edge groups appear in the panel on the right. By default, all edges belong to all-edge-group.
  • STATUS: CONNECTED or NOT CONNECTED

You can do the following on the Edges page:

  • View the OphidServer Cluster IDProfilesLabels, Status, and other details of an edge: Select the edge and view its details in the panel on the right or by clicking .

In the panel on the right, you can also see the profiles associated with the edge. To see the firewall policy or routing policy, click the profile links. To see more details, click the number in blue next to the policy; the Rule dialog will show the configuration-specific details of the firewall and routing rules. For more details, see Viewing Firewall Rule Details and Viewing Routing Rule Details.

  • Modify an edge: Click Edit, or select the checkbox for the edge and click the Edit button.
  • Remove an edge: Select the edge and click Remove or click the Remove button.
  • Search for edges by keyword: In the Search text box, enter the keyword that you want to search on. The application displays the profiles that match the keyword.
