Role Assignment

You can assign roles for the registered app in Log Analytics workspace and DCR, so that the logs we are ingesting can be published through DCR to Log Analytics workspace.

1. Log Analytics Workspaces:

   • Navigate to Log Analytics workspaces.

   • Select the workspace and go to Access control (IAM).

   • Click + Add > Add to add a role assignment.

   • Choose the appropriate role and assign it to your application in this case select LogAnalyticsContributor.

   • Navigate to Data Collection Rules.

   • Select the DCR and go to Access control (IAM).

   • Click + Add -> Add to add a role assignment.

   • Search for and select the application you registered earlier.

   • Assign roles Monitoring Contributor, Monitoring Metrics Publisher.
